5t LDC Overhead Cranes for Uzbekistan: New Factory Selection and Delivery

When purchasing cranes for a new factory, the customer needed to compare equipment options and decide how many production areas required crane coverage. In this glass factory project in Uzbekistan, the customer considered both the LD single-girder overhead crane e LDC low headroom single girder overhead cranes, then reassessed the quantity against the budget and handling needs in other areas. The final order comprised three 5t LDC low headroom single girder overhead cranes, together with crane runway girders, crane runway rails, and a conductor bar system.

Choosing the Crane Type and Quantity

The new factory needed cranes for material handling. In addition to the 5t lifting capacity, the customer had to consider lifting height, available overhead space, and purchase cost. KUANGSHAN CRANE initially proposed four cranes. As discussions progressed, the customer reconsidered the quantity in light of the project budget and the areas requiring coverage.

Refining the Solution Around the Factory Requirements

KUANGSHAN CRANE adjusted the supply proposal as the customer’s requirements became clearer, from comparing crane designs and revising the quantity to manufacturing according to the confirmed dimensions. The customer was able to finalize the selection through these discussions without having to settle every detail at the initial inquiry stage.

Comparing Standard and Low Headroom Designs

In June 2025, KUANGSHAN CRANE proposed two four-crane options based on a 19.5m span: standard LD single girder overhead cranes and LDC low headroom single girder overhead cranes. Both early proposals used MD1 electric wire rope hoists.

The LDC option offered greater lifting height, while the LD option had a lower crane price. KUANGSHAN CRANE also offered the supporting crane runway girders, crane runway rails, and power supply equipment so the customer could decide whether to purchase them together with the cranes.

Adjusting the Quantity to Cover Material Handling Needs

The customer’s original business plan had focused on production equipment and had not fully accounted for crane costs. As a result, the initial purchase approval covered only two cranes.

The customer still needed to handle large glass sheets measuring 3m × 6m in other areas. KUANGSHAN CRANE therefore proposed a three-crane arrangement, which the customer selected. The order also included 900m of crane runway girders, crane runway rails, and a conductor bar system. Once the quantity and supply scope were agreed, both parties finalized the crane configuration and manufacturing dimensions.

Confirming the Final Span and Headroom

After confirming the quantity, the customer still needed to ensure that all three overhead cranes would fit the factory’s runway lines and have sufficient clearance beneath the Roof Truss. The earlier quotation specified a 19.50m span. In February 2026, the customer relayed the construction manager’s recommendation to use a uniform 19.48m span for all three lines. KUANGSHAN CRANE revised the quoted span accordingly and confirmed that all three cranes would be manufactured to this dimension.

The purchase order specified 1,343mm between the top of the crane runway rail and the lowest point of the roof structure. Allowing for the required 200mm clearance, the crane’s highest point could be no more than 1,143mm above the rail. The final LDC design used a KS 5t compact electric wire rope hoist, provided a maximum lifting height of 9.3m, and placed the crane’s highest point 915mm above the rail.

Manufacturing and Shipment of the Cranes and Runway Equipment

In February 2026, KUANGSHAN CRANE arranged production of the three cranes and the crane runway girders. By late April, the cranes and supporting steel structures were ready. The company then packed the three cranes, 900m of crane runway girders, crane runway rails, the conductor bar system, and related components for shipment.

During container loading, timber separated the long steel members. Wrapped components and wooden cases were arranged together, and some items were secured with straps.

Installation Progress at the New Factory

Photos taken in June 2026 show crane lifting and installation work inside the customer’s new factory. They document the equipment’s arrival at the site and the progress of on-site installation.

Planning Crane Coverage for a New Factory

This project shows how crane selection can develop alongside factory planning: the customer first compared lifting height and price, then determined the number of cranes, and finally confirmed manufacturing dimensions and supporting equipment.
